Oral Hygiene Routine- How you should be taking care of your oral cavity?

The Essentials:

1) Brushing-

Brushing twice daily with a fluoridated toothpaste is the cornerstone of a healthy oral hygiene routine.

Ideally, you should brush after your breakfast in the morning, and after dinner/last meal of the day.

More on brushing in an upcoming

separate article on common questions associated with brushing.

2) Flossing in an oral hygiene routine-

Floss is a thread that you use to clean between your teeth.

Flossing helps remove plaque that forms between teeth and along the gum line where toothbrush bristles can't reach.

Ideally, we should floss twice daily but once daily is enough & you should add floss to your oral hygiene routine today.

3) Visiting the Dentist:

Visiting the dentist every six months ensures early detection and treatment of dental issues, helps maintain oral hygiene with professional cleanings, and provides preventive care to avoid more serious and costly problems. Regular check-ups also monitor gum health and screen for oral cancer. This proactive approach supports overall oral health and long-term cost savings

What more can you do?

1) Quit Smoking/Tobacco

2) Oral Rinses

3) Limit Snacking

4) Use Tongue scrapers
